Under the chairmanship of Govinda Bhattarai, a new executive committee of the Alpine Sports Federation has been elected.

The general assembly held in Kathmandu on Saturday unanimously elected the new executive committee under Bhattarai’s leadership.

The vice presidents of the committee chaired by Bhattarai are Somnath Gyawali, Lalkumar Lama, and Sanubabu Sunuwar. Pratik Bahadur Khatri has been elected as General Secretary, while Uttam Babu Bhattarai and Utsav Pathak have been elected as Secretaries without opposition. Krishna Agrawal has been elected as Treasurer.

Similarly, Srijana Tamang and Bachan Karki have been elected as members. In its first meeting held immediately after the election, the executive committee nominated Sudarshan Nepal as Secretary, Manisha Tamang as Joint Treasurer, and Satya Thapa as Member.

The general assembly amended the federation’s constitution and passed its annual policy and program.

The general assembly was inaugurated by Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tanka Lal Ghising, and included goodwill remarks from Anjan Dhamala, President of the eSports Association; Ramesh Paudel, President of the Nepal Climbing Association; and Achyut Khanal, President of the Nepal Skating Association.

After being elected to lead the federation, President Bhattarai stated that, for the first time, the central federation would initiate work by handing over all authority to the provincial federations. He said the federation would work to make the provincial federations active and strong, and expressed his commitment to advance the federation as an association of alpine, nature, and adventure sports.
